A return to Old Quebec City

It’s early October which means what has become for us an almost bi-annual anniversary weekend away in Old Quebec City. One of the few cities in the world with its complete fortifications still in place, it is also one of Canada’s most romantic cities, so where better to spend our anniversary?

This entrance through the ramparts of Quebec City on Rue Saint Louis will take you down to the Old Port area .

After driving through the Porte Saint Louis our first stop was our B&B, a wonderful old house, typical of the style within the walls, very narrow and very high. Although the stairs would take their toll over the weekend, we never tired of the view.

In addition to the magic we feel while visiting Old Quebec for our anniversary every few years, there is no discounting of the magnificence that the fall colours, signs of harvest throughout the city and it seems always perfect weather.
